Why We Exist:

Many men experience isolation, disconnection, and a lack of meaningful support in their lives.

This can be caused by a range of factors, including finances, confidence, weak or sometimes even no social networks, uncertainty about where to seek help or fear to do so. For many men, support services feel inaccessible or intimidating, and are often only engaged when at crisis point.

As a result, men can find themselves repeating unhelpful patterns in relationships, work, and just about everywhere else. Non of them access to spaces that allow for reflection, connection, and change. Over time, this can deepen isolation and allow them to stay hidden away.

The Brotherhood Community Project CIC exists to address this gap.

We provide early, preventative, community-based support through accessible group spaces from the comfort of your own home & in person through facilitated conversations. Our work focuses on reaching men who may not get involved with normal services. By creating structured, non-judgemental environments, we are going to reduce isolation, strengthen individuals & support healthier participation in life.

What we do

The Brotherhood Community Project CIC delivers accessible, community-based activities online & in person.

Our work is centred on three core areas: Online Group Support, In person Community Sessions, Pathways to further support.

Online Group Support

We run regular, facilitated online sessions that provide men with a consistent space for connection, reflection, and mutual support from their own home. These sessions focus on building self-awareness, communication skills, and personal responsibility in a structured and respectful group environment.

Online delivery allows us to reach men who may face barriers such as cost, location, time constraints, or lack of confidence to attend in-person services. Sessions are designed to be welcoming, non-judgemental, and accessible to those with no prior experience of group support. It also allows for those struggling with social anxiety to have their camera off but still benefit from the group.

In-Person Community Sessions

Subject to available funding, we facilitate low-cost or funded in-person gatherings aimed at rebuilding confidence, trust, and social connection. These sessions prioritise inclusion and are designed for men who may otherwise be unable to participate due to financial or social barriers.

In-person sessions focus on practical engagement, peer connection, and healthy participation in group activities, helping men reconnect with their local community in a safe and supported way.

Pathways to Further Support

We recognise that group spaces alone may not meet every individual’s needs. Where appropriate, we provide clear signposting to additional support, including community organisations, professional services, and other relevant resources.

This ensures participants are not left unsupported and can access further help when needed, without the CIC attempting to replace clinical or specialist services.

How We Are Run

The Brotherhood Community Project CIC is governed by a board of directors and operates with clear structures to ensure accountability, transparency, and community benefit.

Decisions are made collectively using defined processes that prioritise fairness, inclusion, and shared responsibility. No single individual holds unilateral decision-making power, and all significant decisions are discussed and agreed through structured meetings.
The board of directors can be found under “our team”.

The CIC follows clear governance procedures, including:
• Defined roles and responsibilities within meetings
• Transparent proposal and decision-making processes
• Consensus-based decision making wherever possible
• Accurate recording of decisions and actions

These processes are designed to ensure that the organisation remains values-led, accountable, and focused on its community purpose.

Safeguarding and Responsibility

The CIC is committed to providing safe and respectful spaces for all participants. Clear safeguarding principles guide all activities, with defined boundaries, conduct expectations, and escalation procedures in place.

The CIC does not provide clinical or medical services. Where additional or specialist support is required, participants are supported through appropriate signposting to external services.

Financial Accountability

All funds received by the CIC, including grants and donations, are used solely to support the organisation’s community objectives.

Financial decisions are made collectively, recorded transparently, and reviewed regularly to ensure responsible use of funds. No profits are distributed, and all income is reinvested into delivering accessible community activities.

The CIC operates independently from The Brotherhood Community Ltd, with separate governance, finances, and decision-making structures.

Transparency and Documentation

Key governance and accountability documents are available to view and download, including:
• Governance and Decision Making
• Safeguarding Policy
• Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Policy
• Financial Transparency Summary

These documents ensure clarity for participants, partners, and funders, and support ongoing accountability.
