THE BROTHERHOOD, IRELAND
Men’s hikes, coaching and expeditions in Ireland
Good company.
Proper conversations.
Something to work towards.
The Brotherhood brings men together through relaxed hikes and runs in Ireland, one-to-one coaching with Naoki and bigger expeditions.
WHAT WE ACTUALLY DO
Three different ways
to be involved.
They are deliberately different. You can come to a local walk and leave it there, work with Naoki regularly, or commit to a much bigger experience.
02REGULAR 1-TO-1
Coaching with Naoki
Grounded one-to-one conversations that help you understand what is happening, separate fact from assumption and find reliable anchors.
- Can be arranged as regular sessions
- Separate facts from the story around them
- Build anchors that hold in daily life
03BIGGER COMMITMENT
Retreats & expeditions
Trips that take more planning, more effort and more commitment. This is where experiences such as Mount Toubkal and the Sahara sit.
- Multi-day trips and retreats
- Preparation as a group
- Priced separately for each trip
THE BROTHERHOOD CHECK-IN
What would be useful
for you right now?
This is not a personality test and there is no right answer. Ten straightforward questions will help you work out whether a local meet-up, coaching or a bigger challenge looks like the best place to begin.
- About two minutes
- A clear starting point at the end
- Your answers stay on this device until you choose to send them

Answer based on where you are now. The result will suggest a first step and prepare a short summary you can send directly to Naoki.
YOUR STARTING POINT
This is a useful first step, not a fixed category. You can still ask about any part of The Brotherhood.
LOCAL MEET-UPS
The easiest way
to start.
Turn up, walk or run with us, get some food afterwards and head home.
There is no course to sign up for and no expectation that you need to tell everyone your life story. Our men's meet-ups are a simple way to get outdoors, spend time with decent people and let conversation happen naturally.
Most local days are free or very cheap. You may only need to cover parking, food or a small event cost.
ONE-TO-ONE COACHING FOR MEN
A place to get clear, return to what is true and move forward without treating yourself as broken.
The starting point is simple: you are whole and complete as you are. Coaching is not about fixing you. It helps you see what is happening more clearly and find anchors that keep you grounded in objective reality.
Naoki asks careful questions to separate what you know from what you fear, assume or have been told. You can look at a difficult situation without turning it into a judgement about who you are.
Together, you identify anchors: facts, values, people, routines or commitments that bring you back when pressure pulls you off course. They give you something real to return to, so your next decision can come from clarity rather than panic or self-criticism.
1
Name what is happeningDescribe the situation without adding a verdict about yourself.
2
Separate fact from storyWhat can you verify, and what are you assuming?
3
Return to wholenessA hard moment does not make you incomplete, broken or less worthy.
4
Choose your anchorsIdentify what keeps you grounded in objective reality and helps you stay steady.
Coaching supports reflection, perspective and grounded personal development. It is not psychotherapy or medical treatment.
RETREATS & BIG EXPEDITIONS
The bigger things
we work towards.
These are very different from a Sunday walk. They take preparation, money, time and a willingness to be uncomfortable.
Each trip is planned and priced separately. The group prepares together beforehand, takes on the experience together and has time afterwards to make sense of it.
2024
Mount Toubkal
A high-altitude climb in Morocco and one of the expeditions that showed what The Brotherhood could become.
2026
Sahara Desert
Heat, distance and days away from normal life. A completely different challenge for the group.
SAHARA DESERT, 2026
What the trip
actually looked like.
The expedition was made up of long days on foot, meals around one table, quiet minutes, hard stretches and people helping each other through them.
FROM THE DUNES
A moment from the middle of it.
No polished recap. Just the group together on the sand, working through the day as it happened.
MOUNT TOUBKAL, 2024
More than
the summit.
The summit made the photograph. The days around it made the expedition: cold starts, steep ground, long conversations and men looking after each other when the effort caught up.
WHAT IS NEXT?
Future retreats and expeditions are announced when the plan is ready.
ABOUT NAOKI
Why I started
The Brotherhood.
I wanted to create something straightforward: men spending time together, doing worthwhile things and being honest about where they are.
I joined the Royal Marines at 16, later served in the Royal Engineers and left the military in 2020. The Brotherhood began in 2024 and is now growing here in Ireland through local meet-ups, one-to-one coaching and larger trips.
I am not here to fix anyone. My role is to ask useful questions, help people return to what is true and support them in staying close to what matters to them.

THE SIX FOUNDATIONS
What The Brotherhood
is built on.
These are not qualities you need to prove before you arrive. They guide how we treat each other, how we move as a group and what we return to when things get difficult.
Loyalty
We do not disappear when a man is having a hard time. We stay in contact and follow through on what we said.
Discipline
We prepare properly, keep our word and do the ordinary things that make difficult days manageable.
Respect
We speak to each other directly and remember that every man brings a different history to the group.
Non-judgement
You can arrive as you are. We listen before deciding what another man should think, feel or do.
Determination
We keep moving when the weather, the route or life gets uncomfortable. Progress can be slow and still count.
Courage
We tell the truth, ask for help when we need it and take the next step without pretending we are fearless.
COMMON QUESTIONS
Thinking about joining?
These are the questions men usually ask before coming along for the first time.
Who is The Brotherhood for? +
It is for men who want more connection, time outdoors, clearer thinking or something worthwhile to work towards. You do not need a particular background, personality or level of experience.
Can I come on my own? +
Yes. Plenty of men arrive without knowing anybody. Let Naoki know it is your first time and you will be told exactly where to meet and what to expect.
What happens at a local meet-up? +
We meet at the agreed place, walk or run at the planned pace, and usually get food or a drink afterwards. It is relaxed. You can talk as much or as little as you like.
Do I need to be fit? +
It depends on the event. Local meet-ups vary from relaxed walks to runs and harder mountain days. The difficulty will be made clear before you join.
Will I be expected to open up? +
No. You can walk, talk about ordinary life and get to know people at your own pace. Nothing is forced.
Is there a belief system I need to follow? +
No. The Brotherhood is grounded in ordinary conversation, psychology-informed ideas, shared effort and real life. You will not be asked to adopt a belief system.
What should I bring? +
You will receive a simple kit list before each event. For most local walks that means suitable footwear, weather-appropriate clothing, water and anything personal you normally need outdoors.
How much does it cost? +
Local meet-ups are usually free or very cheap. Coaching is paid and can be arranged regularly. Retreats and expeditions are priced individually because every trip is different.
Where do the meet-ups happen? +
Meet-ups are announced individually, with many taking place in Ireland. The exact meeting point, route and travel details are shared before the event.
How is coaching different from a meet-up? +
A meet-up is a relaxed group activity. Coaching is a private one-to-one conversation with Naoki that helps you separate fact from story, return to what is true and identify anchors that keep you steady.
Can a beginner join an expedition? +
Often, yes. Each expedition has its own physical and practical demands. You will be told clearly what is involved, what preparation is needed and whether the trip is a sensible fit for you.
Is coaching the same as therapy? +
No. Coaching supports reflection, perspective and grounded personal development. It is not psychotherapy, diagnosis, crisis support or medical treatment.
How do I stay involved? +
The WhatsApp community has spaces for announcements, general conversation and asking for support. Contact Naoki for the joining details.
Can I speak to Naoki before deciding? +
Yes. You can message on WhatsApp, call, send a text or email. Ask whatever you need to know before choosing a meet-up, coaching or a larger trip.
